On Wed., May 2, 2012, the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce’s Jon Swerens and I will present “How to Create and Deliver a Great Presentation” at the Chamber from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Our goal is to provide pragmatic, easy-to-understand advice designed to help attendees overcome the fear of public speaking, connect with their audience, and design slides that enliven their presentations.
This week, as a preview to our presentation, Jon and I will share some of the advice we’ll include in on May 2 session. Here’s what to expect:
- On Tuesday I’ll talk about why we fear public speaking–and why this fear may actually be a good thing
- On Wednesday I’ll discuss the six things you need to consider in preparation for any presentation
- On Thursday my post will focus on the ways in which “the backchannel” is creating new challenges for presenters–and how we can respond, and
- On Friday Jon will share some thoughts on slide design
If there’s anything specific you’d like us to address, please drop a note in the comments and we’ll do our best to include it in one of our posts.
