“LinkedIn chocolates” by Nan Palmero on Flickr

LinkedIn has made a lot of changes lately. This week, I’ll be taking a close look at some of the new and adapted features and functionality most worth your attention. Here’s a preview of what I’ll be discussing:

  • Monday: Endorsements
  • Tuesday: Company pages
  • Wednesday: Follows
  • Thursday: Notifications
  • Friday: Outlook integration

If you have any questions about LinkedIn, please drop a note in the comment and I’ll try to address it in one of my posts.

    Hi Anthony,
We have a loosely affiliated group of like organizations and would like a method to post questions and share ideas with peers in a “closed environment”. Is LinkedIn a good resource for that?

Hi, Dianne–thanks for the comment. I think LinkedIn WOULD be a good tool for what you have in mind. I’d suggest creating a closed LinkedIn Group. Participants would need to request permission to join. Be sure, too, to avoid taking an “if you build it, they will come” approach. That’s where a lot of Groups fail. The keys to success will be 1. having great content/conversation in the group, and 2. promoting the group to prospective members. Good luck, and let me know if I can help further.
